A few good recipies!!!!!!!!

Hi, I have told you before that I like to cook. Here are three of the recipes that I like to make.

Family bread,

4c. warm tap water,
2/3c. non-fat dry milk powder,
1/3c. sugar or 1/4c. honey,
2PC. or 4ts. dry yeast,
1Tbs. wheat gluten ( use this if you are using wheat flour),
1Tbs. salt,
1/3c. melted margarine,
12c. flour ( it works good if you do 8c. wheat and 4c. white)

Yields 4 loves.

When I make this I use a large plastic bowl. You CAN NOT use metal to mix with!

Mix the water, dry milk, and sugar (or honey) in the bowl. Add yeast, allow the mixture to sit until the yeast dissolves some (this will only take a few minutes). Add (wheat gluten goes in now if you are using it) salt, margarine or oil, and flour. Mix with a wooden spoon until it gets to thick, then dig with your hands. When the dough s in a nice cohesive ball turn it onto a floured kitchen table or counter.

Now start kneading the dough with all the love you have for your family. When you knead it, press the love for your family into it. If you need to you can add a little flour. Knead for about 15 minutes, dough should pop up when you press your finger in it.

Place dough into a bowl and place a rag on top. Let the dough sit for 2hrs. When the 2hrs are up punch down the dough. Separate dough into 4Th's and place into separate pans. Some times I like to braid the loaves or put a few oats on top. Let the loaves sit for 2hrs in the oven ( do not turn it on). After the 2hrs are up heat the oven up to 350 Fahrenheit. Let the bread bake for 40 minutes or until they are brown on top. When they are ready take them out and cool them.

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Balls,
3/4c. uncooked oatmeal,
3/4c. nonfat dry milk,
3/4c. chunky peanut butter,
1/2c. honey,
1ts. vanilla
1/4c. raisins (optional)

( This only makes a few so I usually double it)

Stir oats and dry milk together. Blend peanut butter, honey, and vanilla together until smooth. Stir in oat mixture and raisins. Shape dough into small balls and store in refrigerator. Do not bake.

Enjoy!!!!

Oatmeal Cookies,

1 1/4c. butter,
3/4c. firmly packed brown sugar,
1 egg,
1tsp. vanilla,
1 1/2c. all-purpose flour,
1tsp. baking soda,
1tsp. salt
1tsp. cinnamon,
1/4tsp. nutmeg,
3c. non cooked oats.

Heat oven to 375 Fahrenheit. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, spices, and baking soda, add this to the egg sugar and vanilla. Mix well. Stir in oats. Drop rounded spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake for 8-9 minutes or until slightly brown.
Cool and place cookies on a platter.

Enjoy!!!!!!!
